Emley Village Trail

This is one of the most popular walks in the area. This circular route, approximately 3 miles long, typically takes about two hours to complete. Starting at the Stone Cross in the village centre, the trail guides you through Emley, past the historic St. Michael’s Church, and into the surrounding countryside. Along the way, you’ll pass historical landmarks such as Furnace Grange Farm and enjoy views of the iconic Emley Moor Mast, the tallest freestanding structure in the UK. The route is well-marked with waymarkers, making it easy to follow as you take in the sights.

Emley Boundary Walk

For those looking for a longer walk, this is an excellent option. This 14-mile circular route takes you around the boundaries of the village, offering a more challenging walk that will take between six to seven hours to complete. Along the way, you’ll traverse diverse terrains, including woodlands, moorlands, and farmland, providing plenty of opportunities to connect with nature. The route passes through Clough Bridge, Mill Beck, and Flockton Moor, offering plenty of scenic views and a thorough exploration of the area surrounding Emley.

Emley Circular Trail

Another great route! A 6-mile walk that takes you around the village and surrounding areas. The trail visits the Emley Millennium Green and heads towards the Emley Moor Mast, providing panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. This walk is moderately challenging and offers a great way to spend a few hours outdoors, enjoying both the local history and natural beauty of the area.
