Shelley

The village of Shelley is situated 5 miles southeast of Huddersfield town centre.

Over the recent decades, housing development has been built on the hillside above Shepley Beck, while the older parts of the village are located at the top of the hill and around Far Bank.

Several listed buildings are scattered throughout the village, including Shelley Methodist Church, which is located at Far Bank. Although with later additions from the mid 19th century, it is considered one of the oldest surviving buildings in the area.

The village is mostly surrounded by agricultural land, with some wooded areas that separate Shelley from the neighbouring villages of Kirkburton and Shepley.
