Readymix Transport & Shipping Co-ordinator — Myers Readymix, Huddersfield Full Time | Permanent | Competitive Hourly Rate

Myers Readymix is a long-established concrete supplier serving West and North Yorkshire, and part of the family-owned Myers Group. Based at Red Doles Lane in Huddersfield, they’re a well-respected local business with strong roots in the community.

They’re looking for a Transport and Shipping Co-ordinator to join the team at their Huddersfield head office, with occasional travel to other Readymix plants.

The Role

This is a busy, fast-paced coordination role sitting at the heart of the operation. Day to day you’ll be managing driver scheduling, prioritising customer orders, maximising truck utilisation and handling delivery tickets and weighbridge collections.

You’ll also be the first point of contact for customer queries and complaints, manage driver tachograph compliance, record holiday and resource availability, and support the wider Readymix team with administrative and operational tasks.

Hours run between 6am and 5pm on a flexible basis — start and finish times vary daily depending on workload, and late finishes will occasionally be required. Saturday working is on a rota basis.

What They’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a transport, shipping or logistics coordination role
  • Confident giving clear instructions to drivers in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise a busy workload
  • Great customer service skills and a professional phone manner
  • PC literate — comfortable with Office 365, Teams and order management software
  • Flexible approach to hours and willing to travel to other sites when needed
  • Knowledge of the concrete or construction industry is a bonus but not essential
