A&E Receptionist – Hospital Administration

A position has become available for an A&E Receptionist to join a busy and fast-paced hospital department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a healthcare environment and is committed to providing efficient and compassionate front-line administrative support.

The successful candidate will be responsible for registering patients arriving at the A&E department using the hospital’s electronic systems, ensuring all information is recorded accurately and confidentially. Courtesy, professionalism, and sensitivity to patients’ privacy and dignity are essential.

Key responsibilities include:
• Registering patients on arrival to A&E using the electronic patient system
• Booking, rescheduling, and cancelling clinic appointments as needed
• Responding to telephone enquiries from GPs, patients, relatives, and external organisations
• Managing face-to-face enquiries from patients and staff within the department
• Escalating any patient concerns to appropriate clinical staff
• Working closely with the multidisciplinary team and providing administrative support at all levels
• Maintaining a positive and professional approach at all times

This is a varied role and flexibility is required. The post holder may be asked to undertake other relevant administrative tasks as required by the department.
