Sculpture Lounge Summer Exhibition

Summer Exhibition 2024 at the Sculpture Lounge: A Showcase of Talent Across Diverse Disciplines

Above: Work By Greg Kent

Sculpture Lounge is thrilled to announce the opening of its highly anticipated 2024 Summer Exhibition, promising an inspiring showcase of art, with over 40 artists and makers presenting their finest work.

Join us for a fantastic showcase of stunning sculptures, ceramics, paintings, jewellery and silverware by talented artists. This in-person event will be held on the first floor of our Mill at the Sculpture Lounge, where you can walk through a curated display of work, all for sale by artists in the building, plus a selection of UK artists.

Our building plays host to a unique range of heritage crafts, including: stone carving, metalwork, silversmithing, jewellery, painting, wood working, stain glass, ceramics and textiles.

A Celebration of Diverse Talents

Visitors can look forward to an impressive collection of ceramics, featuring distinguished artists such as Linda Bulleyment, Julie Fewster, Miche Follano, and Emily Stubbs. Their innovative and beautiful pieces are sure to appeal to both casual buyers and serious collectors.

Adding to the excitement, renowned painter Genevieve Leavold will present a selection of her dramatic works, fresh from a successful exhibition in Chicago. This exclusive opportunity to view Leavold’s captivating paintings is not to be missed.

Returning favourite Clare Chinnery brings her wildly expressive still life ‘vanitas’ paintings, a highlight for collectors who cherished her work last year. The demand for her pieces is expected to be high, so early viewing is advised.

Greg Kent’s ‘lace oak’ vessels and sculptures are another standout feature. Greg hand-turns locally sourced oak into vessels, which he then sandblasts to reveal the natural lace-like pattern known as ‘medullary rays’.

Local and Resident Artists Shine

Nearly twenty resident artists from Sculpture Lounge will contribute to the exhibition, offering a variety of styles and mediums that reflect their unique perspectives. Their continued involvement underscores the vibrant and supportive artistic community at the Sculpture Lounge.

Among the local talents, painter Carl Longmate’s delightful landscapes provide a refreshing take on the local area’s scenery, perfectly complementing contemporary works by artists like Katie Patel and Emma Butler.
