Mysore Style Yoga differs from most other Yoga classes because it offers an assisted Self Practice experience, where individuals practice the Ashtanga sequence at their own pace without Grace cuing the poses.
The nature of this class allows for a personalised practice, as Grace has the time to tailor the sequence by adding postures when necessary or modifying poses that need adjustments, which may be skipped in a led class.
Initially, individuals practicing without a teacher at the front of the class may find it a little daunting, so large prints of the sequence will be provided beforehand if needed.
Mysore style is not limited to “experienced” Ashtanga students; in fact, it provides an ideal environment to learn the sequence in a simplified manner without the pace of a led class.
Students can arrive anytime from 08:30 am and aim to complete their practice, including rest, by 11 am.
