The Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra returns for its 2023-2024 season of concerts.
The season kicks off with another Hall of Fame event (which was highly popular last year and is reprised this year) featuring music from Glinka, Butterworth, Bizet, and Dvorak.
The program for this concert includes:
Glinka Overture – Ruslan and Lyudmila
A. Butterworth Mill Town
Bizet Jeux d’enfants (Petite Suite d’Orchestre)
Dvořák Symphony No 8
The conductor for this performance is Katherine Stonham.
In this final concert as part of Kirklees Year of Music 2023, the orchestra is thrilled to present former conductor Arthur Butterworth’s “Mill Town,” almost 20 years to the day since the orchestra’s inaugural performance in the Town Hall. Additionally, the program features one of Dvořák’s most beloved symphonies.
