Delve into the fascinating world of watercolour techniques with Jeremy as he explores wet-in-wet, wet on dry, and damp on dry methods. Regardless of your skill level, this step-by-step workshop offers valuable insights. Jeremy will guide you through colour-mixing, tonal contrasts, and demonstrate how to overcome common mistakes in watercolour painting. With over thirty years of teaching experience, Jeremy creates a friendly and informal atmosphere, ensuring that you not only learn but also enjoy the art of painting. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have acquired a new skill, gained fresh knowledge, and take pride in your magnificent artwork.
About the Artist
Jeremy Ford, a professional Artist and Illustrator, pursued Graphic Design at Southport College of Art (1972-5) and Illustration at Harrow College of Art, London (1975-8). Since then, he has lent his artistic expertise to a wide range of books, magazines, and greeting cards.
Materials to Bring
To fully engage in the workshop, kindly bring the following materials:
- Watercolour paints: Ultramarine, Permanent Rose, Cadmium Yellow, and Burnt Sienna
- Assorted watercolour brushes, such as No. 10 or 12, 6, 7, or 8, and 4 or 5, and 0, 1, 2, or 3
- Watercolour paper with a weight of at least 140lb. Jeremy will be using Bockingford 200lb weight watercolour paper.
- Watercolour palette
- HB, B, or 2B pencil
Materials to Provided
Calder Art will provide the following materials during the workshop:
- 1 x Table Top Easel
- 1 x 13 x 17 12mm Warp resistant MDF Board
- 1 x Paint Pot
- 1 x Palette or Plate
- Masking Tape and other essential supplies will also be available
Please note that courses are subject to minimum numbers. Full payment is required at the time of booking, which can be done in-store, over the phone, or online. All sales are final, except in cases where you choose to transfer to another class, which may require a price adjustment. In the event that a course cannot take place, full refunds will be issued. Unfortunately, no refunds will be given for missed classes, although the option to transfer your booking to an alternative event may be available.
